Ensuring Equal Access to Certification

At ECVC, we are committed to ensuring that our certification examinations are accessible and that candidates with disabilities or other specific needs have a fair opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

Where appropriate, examination accommodations may be provided by making reasonable adjustments to the examination format or testing conditions. Depending on the candidate’s individual needs, these may include additional time, adapted examination materials, assistive technologies, or other appropriate arrangements.

Examples of possible accommodations include:

  • additional time to complete the examination,
  • assistive technologies, such as text-to-speech software,
  • alternative formats for examination materials,
  • assistance with recording answers where required,
  • other reasonable adjustments appropriate to the candidate’s individual circumstances.

Requests for examination accommodations are considered on an individual basis. Candidates should contact ECVC in advance of their examination and provide relevant information about their accessibility requirements so that appropriate arrangements can be considered.
